In Haiti

6 ladies were in Haiti for 2 weeks. We were helping and giving at orphanages and for building projects. Be a part of this and pray and/or give!!

At Madam Tebeaus Orphanage on Mon Aug 29.

This orphanage was such a stark contrast from the first one, it was absolutely refreshing to see an orphanage run as it should. Where the children are fed and clothed with the stuff donated. They had their best clothes on and all came out singing a welcome song, but not before they each gave us a kiss on the cheek. It felt kinda funny. If you have seen Song of Music, you would know why it felt funny to be the one sitting in the chair having the children give the hello kiss. The difference was these kids were genuinely so happy to see us!! Those kids were so incredibly sweet, they were so gentle and caring with one another. Looking after one another and very affectionate. You could tell they were getting the love and attention they need to be healthy, happy children. On top of that, they were healthy! None of them looked malnourished!
One of the kids was so hungry she ate the whole meal we brought with us for each of the kids. And these were HUGE meals, even for a grown man! Anyways, she all the sudden started crying and everyone started laughing, because her little tummy was so over extended! Poor thing ate the whole thing, and made herself sick!
We pulled out the balloons and coloring books and crayons. They LOVED the balloons most, I think! They were so excited and playing with one another and laughing and giggling. It was so wonderful to see after the first orphanage.
It was so beautiful to see our little group of ladies each bond with one or two of these orphaned kids and see the love they all have to share. God is so good and it’s an absolute pleasure to be here and be able to share God’s love with these children. Because of your donations, we are able to not only give them a meal the day we show up, but they have enough left from that meal for another meal, and we also bring bags of rice and beans and some kids multivitamins. God bless you all!
Madam Tebeaus was in tears when we left and thanked us so many times, we just cant thank YOU enough for all you have give and the prayers you have made on our behalf and the behalf of these children.
On a personal note, it just made my heart so glad to see these children so happy, makes me smile just thinking of it. And it was such a simple thing we gave them, balloons! It was hard to leave and I got all teary eyed myself!
With much love,
Christine Mann
