Haiti Earthquake info

2010 Earthquake & Beyond: A massive magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti in January 2010 with an epicenter about 15 km southwest of the capital, Port-au-Prince. An estimated 2 million people lived within the zone of heavy to moderate structural damage. The earthquake was assessed as the worst in this region over the last 200 years.
Haiti has faced challenge upon challenge throughout their recovery process: unfulfilled financial pledges, contested political elections, outbreak and rampant spread of cholera, and episodes of civil unrest that resulted from the enormity of these challenges.
One year later, at least 1.3 million people are still living in temporary shelters and makeshift camps around Port-au-Prince!
