There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty. The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself. Proverbs 11:24-25 We cannot thank you enough for your sacrifice of giving that continues to help us do the work God has called us to. Your giving has been such a life sustaining gift to the children at New Life Children's Home. We are compelled to teach the children these Godly principles that you have sown into their lives. We pray that you will be abundantly blessed for your love, prayers and gracious giving. NEW LIFE CHILDREN'S HOME VISITING TENT CITY ORPHANAGE One Sunday after church we were taking the children with us (as we have done many times), to visit an orphanage and to bring them much needed food. During church service we talked to the kids about giving from our heart; giving our best. After service I asked the kids to go back to their rooms and get something to give to the children at the orphanage. Not to pick something that was old and worn out, not what they didn't want anymore, but to choose something new; something nice. Something they knew was their best to give. When we give, we want to give from our heart. We are representing God and we want to give God our best in all that we do. If we want to give a pair of shoes- we don't want to give them our old pair that we don't want anymore- we want to give them the best pair we have. If we have a dress, barrettes or toys, it's easy to give what is worn out; what we don't want anymore, but to give our best is a sacrifice and God will bless us. We had the microphone set up and asked the kids who wanted to come up, to say what they were going to give. They couldn't get in the line fast enough. One by one, they said, "My new pair of tennis shoes," "My soccer ball," "My shirt," "My stuffed animal." They were all so excited to share. As it was time to leave, the children loaded onto the bus with their gifts, eager to give them to the kids at the orphanage. We take our children to other orphanages in order to impart a Godly foundation in them, of service for others; of giving from their hearts. They learn, by giving back to the community- serving others- as they have been blessed by so many, who have poured into their lives, throughout the years. This was the first time we asked them to give something of their own and they were so excited to share what they had. They were just as eager and excited to help serve the food and to love on the children- their servant hearts were already being demonstrated so powerfully. When it came time to leave, the kids were all smiles. They talked and laughed all the way back to New Life Children's Home. The seed that had been planted was watered again during our time at the tent city orphanage. Those children were touched and so were our children. They gave with such love and they gave their best, ungrudgingly, and left there overflowing with joy. God knows what our best is, even if our best is only a smile or a hug. There is no fee to love; love is free and the greatest gift is the gift of love. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"-John 3:16. It didn't take away from our children to give their best. They willingly gave up their own prize possessions so that others could receive God's love through their giving and their service and they came home so excited and blessed beyond measure. We thank God for allowing us to witness His love in all the kids at New Life Children's Home and at the orphanages we visit. And we thank you, our supporters, for helping us to continue watering the seeds that have been planted in our kids hearts so that one day they will produce His fruit in abundance.
