HURRICANE SANDY LEAVES HAITI IN ANOTHER CRISIS...

Reports are coming in from all over...torrential rains, mudslides and flooding have brought more misery to the country of Haiti, still recuperating from the 2010 earthquake. This recent storm has left thousands still living in the tent cities, their few belongings soaked and ruined, with nowhere to turn. Many streets are flooded, water pouring into the little homes. Some have lost their lives due to flooding and mudslides, schools and businesses are shut down.

The greatest and most severe damage has been in the south, in and around the Pestel area, where we just returned from this past week. We have been receiving desperate calls from Jeremie and other areas in the south that have been hard hit, the heavy winds ripping off roofs and completely destroying crops and entire homes. One of our pastors called from Jeremie desperately requesting aid for food and cholera medicine. I know so many have helped in the past, but we can't imagine the poverty level in these areas. It's so bad...we must help them. I know there are many tears being shed as houses are demolished and food becomes even more scarce or nonexistent. Many homes are just brush, but many live under that roof.

Trucks are backed up at the flooded rivers, unable to cross with many trying to get back home. We can get the help they need, food and medicine, if you can get it to us. We know how to expedite the help quickly, if we have the funds. Please call our office or go on our website to give. Every day is a crisis for them without food. Please help us help them.

Love has no borders...You have never really lived until you have done something for someone who can never repay you...

New Life Children's Home in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, was established in 1977. Our desire for the children at NLCH is that each child in our care know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Our goal is to impart hope and a renewed vision for their future through teaching the wisdom of God's Word and equipping and preparing them through education and training to reach their potential as influential leaders in their homes, communities and nation.
